Old CPU is still great

Request for Feedback

So there is a computer repair shop down the street from me, tons of used and refurbished Mac and PC computers. He has an original Mac G3 Tangerine for $400. Running MacOS 9.2., lookout!

Here is why I am considering it - A small synth or drum machine costs that much, and the interface is sooo limited by comparison. The goal is to install ReBirth and ReCycle, and make it into a dedicated instrument. Get a decent audio interface, maybe with midi, connect it to the main rig.

For $400 you get some sick ass techno tools with a big screen and mouse control, instead of squinting on a tiny screen on a techno box. Does it count as a dawless jam, if the cpu is just a midi device? In any case I am still considering it.
