Where to and what is the proper way to watch Godzilla?

I’m basically new to Godzilla, I really only watched maybe the modern movies before and including Godzilla v. Kong king a long while ago. I really don’t remember a thing though. Obviously I’m gonna watch the very original one but I wanna watch what will help me understand the series and NOT get called a poser due to how prominent it is to be called one. Also what the time frame you think it’ll take? Thank you!!!
