Buying a Wrangler!

I've always wanted a Wrangler! For decades! Never been the right time.

My son and I currently share a car and now that he's got his licence, I'm losing my wheels so the right time is finally here!

Few questions:

1. Manual or Auto? I'm really on the fence.

2. Any particular year to look at? Or ignore?

3. Anything else I should know? I'll be buying second hand. Is there certain kilometres to look at, certain upgrades or services that I would be silly to buy without it being done?

4. Leaning toward red or white. Which one haha? (Realise this is subjective).

Also in Australia if that changes anything.
