Poverty has the opposite effect on virginity for each gender

A poor woman is more likely to be sexually active or promiscuous. Poor women are more likely to be less sheltered, supervised and protected. Because of the monetary value placed on access to women’s bodies in a capitalist society, coupled with poor women’s need for money, and biological tendencies women have to seek a provider, poor women would be the least likely women to be virgins. Most long term female save yourself for marriage virgins would be from sheltered and strict upper middle class or rich families.

Rich men would be the least likely to be male virgins. This is because they have full access to the tools to get women.
