tomorrow is Makar Sankranti for Delhi

this was the response from my friend who is from Gujarat, the story backs to my childhood in 2007 when I have gone to Gujarat for the firt time in January

seeing so many kites flying in the sky I asked him you guys fly kites on 26 January , he laughed and said that whole india flies kites on Makar Sankranti except Delhi

and form that day I still have a question that who started this kite flying trend?
