Do You Have Kids Under That Do Not Have Outside School Activities? How Are They ?

My 11 year old son has been less interested in attending his extra curricular activities. We use to have him in soccer and martial arts. He asked to be out of soccer. Fine. And now recently he wants out of martial arts.

He has no interest in attending anything else.

He says he just wants to hang out with his friends and play at the park. Which isn’t so bad.

Growing up, our parents never put us in anything. So I know that he will be fine.

At the same time, I can see a lot of benefits of him being part of an activity.

My husband is pushing for him to in at least one activity.

Can some parents share their stories of kids who have no extra activities? How has it been?
