Nearly identical case to Lindsay Clancy in NZ - Lauren Dickason killed her three young children in psychotic state. Found GUILTY.

Please look up Lauren Dickason - very similar case in NZ: seemingly happy life, perfect family etc, had post partum depression, 3 young children killed (tried strangling them with cords then smothered them), she was a medical doctor, claims was in a psychosis state, documented depression, documented feelings how she felt. She was found Guilty but not by roi. The judge said, her pyschosis was only ONE factor. The evaluation on the verdict was that there had been planning and she was resentful of her life. Of course this case happened in NZ, (btw Dickason is in the process of appealing on mistrial, the NZ population by and large were not sympathetic to her: I am unlcear why but the media didn't get behind her. It was so so shocking, so few people experienced the cognitive dissonance of: she seemed happy, how can a loving mother ever do this knowingly etc.). But, in the USA, Under Massachusetts law (Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 123, Section 16), meeting the criteria for NGRI requires: Mental Disease or Defect: The person must be suffering from a diagnosed mental illness or impairment at the time of the act.). The jury, I think, will really hone in with: to what extent was she aware of her actions before and during strangling 3 children. I.E. how was she impaired if she wasn't diagnosed with psychosis. And to what extent is it believeable this just happened to be her first psychotic episode if the jury decide she was having a manifestation of an undiagnosed condition, yet to be made clear.
