Butler’s Wharf (LSE hall) room available for 2026-27 + anyone been through cancellation?

I’ve got a confirmed place at Butler’s Wharf for 2026-27 but won’t be taking it up as I’ve found alternative accommodation at Goodenough. I haven’t moved in yet.

Note: any handover has to go through LSE’s Accommodation Office and be approved by them, I can’t transfer it directly myself. But if you’re looking for a room there and interested, let me know and we can look into the process together.

Has anyone actually cancelled an LSE halls contract before moving in, after the free-cancellation deadline had passed? From the T&Cs it looks like you still owe fees even if you don’t move in, unless LSE agrees otherwise. Curious what actually happened for people in practice: did they only lose the deposit, or get chased for more? Did the Accommodation Office offer any flexibility?
