Is the crime rate high in GC?

I'll be visiting Brisbane Gold Coast soon and will be renting a nicer car to drive around. We came over last year and rented a car as well, and all was smooth!

We are thinking of going hiking spots, which the car will be left unattended for a bit while we are going on the hike. What are the chances of a car theft while we are away for 2-4hrs?
