How do you actually compare MBA colleges beyond rankings and advertised packages?

I'm making my MBA shortlist and keep seeing very different placement claims everywhere. For those who have already joined a B-school, what did you check before making your final decision—ROI, median salary, recruiters, internships, faculty, industry exposure, or something else?
