We arrived at the Kings Inn & Suites and were greeted with two people leaving, telling us not to stay here. We wanted to make sure we had documentation as for why we shouldn't stay here, so we went in and checked in. We were told to take the service stairwell to the second floor as the elevator was out of service. Upon walking into the stairwell, we were met with a strong mold/mildew smell, an exit door marked with a sign saying "for the safety of our guests, please do not prop open" propped open to the outside, and a hole in the wall. We continued to our room absolutely dumbfounded. When we opened the door, we were immediately greeted by cockroaches. There was a baby cockroach in the sink, and an adolescent cockroach on the wall by the bathroom. Who knows how many hundreds more were in the walls... There was mold in the shower, and mold in the AC unit, suspicious red stains on the wall and floor, and stains on the bedding. I refused to touch anything in the room and immediately started looking for another hotel to stay at. We went to the front desk and informed the attendant that we would not be staying at this hotel, and showed her the pictures we took. She said we would need to reach out to the third party (Expedia) for a refund. When I reached out to them, they said we did not have trip protection and were not eligible for a refund (we did pay for trip protection, and after filing a claim we were denied because WE CHOSE not to stay at this hotel.) so here's a warning to any and all persons booking the Kings Inn, and/or booking through Expedia. DON'T! Expedia does not care for the safety and wellbeing of the people using their site to book hotels. They will not even consider a partial refund if the hotel you book is an absolute nightmare. They do not vet the hotels on their site whatsoever, and when you show them the horrors you experienced, they say "tough luck".
TL;DR
Do not book the Kings Inn & Suites unless you like sleeping with cockroaches and mold, and don't book through Expedia unless you want to be given the middle finger for not wanting to sleep with cockroaches and mold.

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH EXPEDIA
