Is this real, or is the 5G toggle ineffective?

I'm on US Mobile's "Dark Star" network, which is basically AT&T. In looking to conserve power on my Pixel 10 Pro XL, I disabled 5G in the SIM settings. (I verified it's disabled by dialing `*#*#INFO#*#*`, a.k.a. `*#*#4636#*#*`). My phone is running Android 17 beta 2.

Running a [speed test](https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/11816448447) (outside, no WiFi), I am getting **1196 Mbps down** and **85 Mbps up**.

Is this real? On my previous phone, Sony Xperia 5G I would get these kinds of speeds only on 5G+/5Guw (depending on network). In fact I was under the impression that the theoretical limit on LTE is something like 500-600bps?

Is anyone else seeing this? Is the 5G toggle broken in this beta?
