A friend and I saw glowing face in the woods!

So years ago a friend and I had a very strange encounter in the woods. And to this day neither my friend or I know what it was we saw...

I should mention that this friend of mine has moved to Colorado somewhere. And we are no longer really in speaking terms...

So years ago somewhere around 2010-2011 I would say. My friend and I went on a hike in the woods... We would do this a lot actually in this specific hike was at least 3 hours long in total. And it was in the fall of course... That was the best time to go hiking in my opinion. We both were booking it trying to get back home before it got any darker out... Because I did not want our parents worrying about us. As him and I were just finally breaking out of the thickets and hitting the trail that would take us home. We had come to a clearing. And from this clearing we then would re-enter the woods so we can get to his place through the back of the woods. Because the trailer that him and his brothers and parents lived in... Literally butted right up against the wood line. In my trailer was actually just right up above where he lived. So as we go to re-enter the woods... we look up and see something that made us stop and look...

There were 2 glowing faces poking out from behind two different oak trees. They were about 5 ft tall and would kind of bobble around and watch us. I saw one of them pointing. While the other one shook its head in confusion...

Well we thought it was some kind of a dumb practical joke that was being played by his brothers or a neighbor. So we decide to yell and chase them down... Hoping to get some kind of either a laugh out of it or answer. The only problem is that when we got up to where these beings or things were... There was nothing there! There weren't even any footprints! There wasn't even a broken twig! There was nothing...

Him and I are baffled at this point and we literally were coming up with all kinds of excuses as to what it could be. So him and I decide that we're going to take and we're going to go looking around. We take and do a circle and try to see if we can hear or see anything... But unfortunately there was nothing. There was not any evidence or proof that whatever this was was even there...

I don't know what it was...
