Invoicing tool for Danish/EU freelancers, live with 0 users. full pitch inside, tear it apart
The product: https://pennapay.com — PennaPay. Freelancer sends one link to their client; that link carries the invoice, the finished work files, the payment options, and a message thread. Free invoice builder needs no account or card. Aimed at creative freelancers (photographers, designers, tattoo artists, producers) in Denmark/EU.
The market: Danish freelancers and micro-businesses first, EU later. Denmark has its own rails the big international tools ignore — MobilePay as a payment method, Danish VAT rules (moms, reverse-charge for EU B2B), CVR numbers, and bookkeeping-law requirements. That's the bet: local depth over global breadth.
Competition: free invoice generators (no file delivery, no payments, no client thread — one-shot PDF and goodbye), full Danish accounting suites (overkill and paid, freelancers use them because their accountant said to), and the big internationals (don't speak Danish tax or MobilePay). PennaPay sits between: more than a generator, lighter than accounting software — and it syncs to the accounting tool their bookkeeper wants anyway.
Stage: live, solo-built, bootstrapped, not raising. Effectively zero users — which is why I'm here.
Customer strategy: SEO on Danish invoicing keywords (template pages are indexing now) + a small paid-search test next month. Free no-signup builder is the top of the funnel; the paid tiers (€12/€24) fund the free tier.
Why me: solo builder in Denmark, built it because invoicing tools either patronize freelancers or drown them in accounting features. No rich daddy, no funding, just runway anxiety.
Roast targets: Is "local depth for Danish freelancers" a real wedge or a small-market cope? Does the landing page sell any of what I just wrote, or hide it? Would you trust a solo operation with your client invoicing — and what would it take?
Be mean. Vague encouragement is worth nothing to me.
