2010 Honda Civic EX Coupe 2D. Approximately 238,000km.

Been having this problem with the stereo for the past 3ish years. Best way to describe the problem is that there’s ‘phantom’ changes of the FM1, FM2, AM, and AUX channels. The stereo will flip through these channels entirely on its own and without any of the buttons on the stereo or the steering wheel being pressed. Also, sometimes the volume will go to max before the sound cuts out completely and the stereo will not play sound again until the car is turned off and started again.

The thing is, it is entirely random. I haven’t figured out a trigger. Sometimes I can go multiple days and multiple trips in a row with no issues. Other times, it’s every single trip and every time the car is started that this occurs.

Lastly, around the time that this stereo problem started, my dashcam that was professionally installed and hardwired in completely died. It just stopped turning on and working entirely. Not sure if this is pertinent info or entirely coincidence.

I’ve taken the car to a mechanic and they couldn’t diagnose any issue and said the problem didn’t occur while they worked on the car.
