Five years ago I barely knew elementary school math. Today I graduated with high honors in aerospace engineering.
I really struggled in school for a multitude of personal reasons all coming back to mental health. I floundered for several years and sort of convinced myself that learning math and science was stupid and just another checkbox imposed by a system that I didn't fit into.
But over time I realized that I had abilities and interests that just couldn't be truly fulfilled without learning those subjects and I taught myself from the ground up, literally starting from kindergarten level, counting chickens on Khan Academy to make sure I didn't miss anything.
I'm just posting this to say that if you're feeling lost and useless like I was years ago, one good thing about being lost is that you have time to find yourself the way everybody else before seemed to fail to find you.
