M2 max in 2026

About to get an m2 max 16” 96gb/4To 92% battery

Price : 2100$

I feel like it’s a great deal I have an m1 air base model from 2021 and the upgrade will definitely be felt. I am mostly getting it since the one I have now started to lag a little bit. I am worried about future proofing and wondering if I could use it for another 5-7 years without problems. I heard the battery isn’t that great on the m2 max.

Should I wait until my mac is obsolete or do I upgrade now what do you think ?

I will mostly use it as plugged in to my monitor for some music production and editing videos (and some little gaming on the side).
