Aussie here please tell me there's a way to get better hearing aids that arnt super expensive

The ones I get for free are so garbage. I hear an echo. They are useless even when things get slightly loud. They run on bats that go flat every 5 seconds. Please tell me there are better ones then this. As is I barely wear them cause it's easier to just be deaf then bother with the slight delay from one ear to the other.
