The Cerp - Horror Thriller Script
Before I spend another month cutting this thing down, I want to know if the premise is worth the month.
STORY:
Four friends skip a ninety-minute lift line by sneaking through a restricted maintenance gate at the biggest ski resort in the Pacific Northwest.
The back trails they end up on run across the face of a mountain that an escaped convict grew up on and three days earlier, he walked off a wrecked prison transport and back into those trees.
He isn't hunting them. They're on his mountain. He knows every structure, every drainage, every place a body goes. They know a folded trail map.
The hook I'm testing: the killer is not a mystery. You meet him in the first four pages, in full daylight of a sort, and the horror is that he is completely at home and they are completely not.
QUESTIONS:
-
Have I unknowingly written a movie that already exists? Genuinely asking point me at it if so.
-
Does "local who belongs here" work as a horror engine, or does it need a supernatural element to sell?
-
Would that logline make you click on a poster?
