What I find most interesting about Hunter x Hunter among other things is the Hunter association and the blatant corruption it has over the world. In most Shonen the main character usually joins an organization that upholds moral values such as justice or keeping the peace. But the Hunter association’s main motto is basically hunt or be hunted. The Hunters are pretty much glorified mercenaries that will do anything they want simply because they are so powerful. Even their badges can take them anywhere they want with barely any repercussions. It seems the common people basically accept them because well what can they do about it exactly? Hunters hunt and that’s the end of the story.

The commandments are values sure but it’s so different from our own world which makes it so special. Killing to them is just another means to get to their destination. I look at a lot of the hunters such as Netero, Pariston, Ging and think man these people would be horrible to have around in real life. They don’t really give a shit about the world just what they want. Selfishness is incentivized in the Hunter’s association. But I won’t say that all of them are bad. Even though I feel like the Hunter’s association would be immediately shut down from the common people showing how corrupt it actually is. But I could be wrong just my opinion.
