What is your favourite UK local history fact or debate?

Mine is that there are plenty of places around Swansea, that claim to have Rocky Marciano’s signature or records that Rocky stayed there.

Marciano is arguably the single toughest boxer of all time, tougher than Ali (in fact he injured Ali during a sparring session they had when Rocky had long since retired) and tougher than Tyson. But few things affected Rocky emotionally as his fondness for his time spent in Swansea and as a GI (he was very upset when he found out that the Mumbles train had been cancelled).
