switch another train? or stay on the train? (just change ticket)

Hi everyone

This October I am going to Scotland, this will be my first time there, planning to visit Inverness,

but since they changed the app, now I can't tell if I need to leave the train for another one? or should I just stay on the train but only switch ticket?

can anyone tell me?
