Any success stories pivoting out of corporate america after 10+ years?
I have 10+ YOE working in corporate america. I never really settled on any specific career and ended up bouncing around a couple of jobs to secure raises and more prestigious employers. I now find myself unemployed after a lay off with most of my momentum gone while having very little corporate ambition left. Although I have a solid paper resume, the job market is bad and I feel like I don't have many practical skills or a clear career to return too.
I'm starting to consider a more drastic career change - perhaps buying a business/franchise or changing careers (trades, healthcare, perhaps something more operational and real nature). Does anyone have experience in this and opening to sharing their story?
