The correlation between latex pillows and waking up hot is undeniable.
I have lost count of how many customers have told me their latex pillow is comfortable at bedtime but somehow feels hot by morning.
There is a reason for that, but it is not as simple as saying latex is a hot material.
Latex is fairly dense and does not ventilate the same way as highly breathable fiber or shredded-fill pillows. Your head and neck also stay in contact with the same area for hours, so heat and moisture can build up. A solid latex pillow can make this more noticeable than a shredded latex design.
The cover matters too. I have seen people blame the latex when the real culprit was a thick polyester protector or poorly breathable pillowcase trapping heat around it.
If you sleep warm, I would look for ventilated or shredded latex, a breathable cotton or similar cover, and avoid unnecessarily thick protectors.
Latex can sleep comfortably, but construction and airflow make a much bigger difference than most people realize.
