My brother thinks he gets my struggles but he doesn't
I'm having a really bad day today because I'm just super sad about how empty my life is. All I do all day every day is game, so I play through games often in less than a month and am then left having to get a new game and rinse and repeat. Obviously this isn't sustainable and aside from that it's just so depressing and confronting of how empty my life is.
I shared this with my brother and he just said "Choose what you want your life to be and work towards it" so I explained that it's not that easy for me. I'm currently learning how to program, but I can really only do like half an hour of practice before I'm wiped for the day so I explained that too but all he says is "Well you just have to build up to doing it longer" and once again I try to explain that's not how it works and then he says I just think that because I'm upset right now.
Stuff like this is just so frustrating because, yes I can build up to do a bit more, but realistically I'll never be able to do things as much as I'd like. I've had fibromyalgia for over a decade now and I've tried to work up to doing things for extended periods of time so many times, so I know I'll likely never be able to spend more than maybe an hour on something like coding. But even when I tell him that he just doesn't get it and insists I can work up to coding entire days.
And for people wondering, yes gaming also tires me out a lot, like I'm exhausted at 5 p.m and I usually boot my games up around 11 a.m. plus I take breaks in between. Gaming is just the thing that tires me out the slowest.
Anyway, I just needed to get this off my chest because it's really bothering me and I'm hoping there's people here that do actually understand where I'm coming from.
