In the climax of the Carrion Throne, were Erasmus and the Haemonculus techically fighting in the throne room?

Theres a moment after the fight where Erasmus says to the custodian 'its all good, the haemonculus never made it close to the throne', and the custodian goes quiet and just looks up. Erasmus follows his gaze, and its implied that, very distantly above him, he can see the golden throne itself. He then passes out.

Is this technically the same room that we see in EOTD, described as super huge and that bas probably got much much larger due to all the work on the throne itself? Or is this the equivalent of looking up through gaps in the floor and seeing the room above you?
