Help a traumatized Windows survivor setup CachyOS

Help

I’m switching to Linux because I had a really bad persistent virus on windows. I was finally able to rid myself of it but I don’t want that operating system anymore, I feel like it’s just one big malware backdoor lol. I’ve tried installing CachyOS a couple times but I keep getting an eerie feeling that I did something wrong each time. I will say that I’m not savvy when it comes to software processes, I only really know the hardware. Im also a generally anxious individual- in fact I have panic disorder, and the malware scare is so fresh that I don’t trust myself to setup my environment and I don’t know what online guides I should trust. I know I’m kind of stupid but the wiki feels very vague, I was hoping someone could give me a gentle walkthrough with setting it up in a way that I’ll feel safe? Choosing the bootloader, partitioning for encryption, picking a kernel, making it so I can have secure boot etc etc.

I’m on an asus rog strix x870e-e gaming WiFi with a ryzen 9 9950X3D and 64gb of ddr5 6000mhz.

I’m choosing cachyos as my first Linux flavor because I’ve read that it’s familiar to windows natives (which I agree with from the little bit of playing with it I’ve done) and it has a lot of support for softwares & what not. My career is in music (Audio engineer/writer/vocalist) and I use FL Studio and a universal Apollo twin x duo audio interface, plus I like to game. From what I’ve read, this sounds like the right distro for me, but feel free to recommend something else. Again, sorry for the stupid question, I’m sure stuff like this gets asked a lot
