Does every dungeon have a definitive reward or end to it?

I explored a couple different dungeons last night that I never got the sense I actually completed them. I checked every nook and cranny that I thought was explorable, with no specific reward given, so I ended up just leaving. For example, the dungeon where you fall in a pit, get thrown in a cage with out your gear. I got my gear back, fought my out but never got any unique reward the felt like the place had actually been finished.

Am I just blind and missed some hidden passage or something? Or do some of these dungeons just have a few basic enemies, and some regular level loot?
