Sitting the EA exam from outside the US? Booking opens 1 September, and the PTIN is what will delay you, not the exam
Quick one for anyone outside the US planning to sit the SEE. After the Prometric to PSI switch, international scheduling and testing only open on 1 September. The trap is treating that as time in hand. You cannot register without a PTIN, and if you do not have a US Social Security number that means Form W-12 plus Form 8946 and roughly six weeks of processing, because foreign documents take longer to review. Start it on 1 September and your first sitting slips into October or later.
So the useful move now is to get the slow bits done before the window opens: PTIN applied for today, PSI account set up with your name exactly as it appears on your ID, and a decision on whether you are travelling to a centre or sitting remotely. Then on the first morning you just log in and pick a date.
