High Mileage Bimmer - Bad Idea
I'm in the market for a new motor after being left without a new car (I rejected it due to defects) so having a look around to see whats available.
Crunched the numbers and realised that I'd much rather own the car and keep it until it's run into the ground rather than getting a new one every few years so I've set myself a budget of around £10k for a hatchback / saloon (just not an suv/mpv), preferably with alright MPG that can comfortably sit on the dual carriageway for the hours commute to work and be taken on longer holidays once a year or so.
My attention is currently drawn to a 2007 Alpina D3. Downside is, it's done 174k miles and although firmly within my budget suitably practical for me I'm sat here wondering whether to go for it or get something with 100k+ less miles on the clock.
I'm not a fan of any vauxhall / seat / VW models really unless they'd fit the bill perfectly.
Any advice, you great people of CarTalkUK? TIA
