Temp Increase Question

I had a left total knee replacement. VA outsourced to community ortho surgeon. Total knee replacement results in temp increase for four months (used to be one year temp increase). One week after surgery, I submitted for temp increase with the assistance of a VA rep at the local VA providing all of my surgery documents. I was not expecting having to complete a C&P exam; however, I hobbled to the exam appointment bringing all of my surgery documents (which had already been submitted) and ongoing physical therapy documents. I thought this would be a quick process; however, I was highly mistaken. I’m almost at the end of the third month post surgery. Is this normal time frame for post surgery temp increase?
