The porch became our evening hangout almost by accident

I never expected the porch to become one of the places where we spend the most time in the evening.

It used to be more of a quick stop after dinner. We’d sit outside for a bit, talk, and eventually head back in. Once we made the seating more comfortable and improved the lighting, though, it started feeling like a space we could actually settle into.

Adding a TV made that even easier. Instead of bringing a regular TV outside whenever we wanted something to watch, we now have a setup that stays there and is ready when we want it.

Some nights we’ll have a game on while everyone is talking, other nights we’ll put on a movie, and sometimes it’s just playing quietly in the background.

The funny thing is that the TV itself isn’t really the reason we spend more time outside. It just gives us one more reason to stay on the porch instead of calling it a night and going back inside.
