I'm working on an investing ideas website: Shareholder letters and Special situation SEC filings

wellreadinvestor.com

In posting this, I'm hoping to get some feedback:

  • I'm a big fan of Joal Greenblatt's book on special situation investing, but is there interest from other non-professional investors to follow these things?
  • Do you read any letters to shareholders?
  • The next thing I'm thinking about adding is a better search and alert mechanism for sec filings than I've been able to find elsewhere. Do you guys look up the SEC records of companies before you buy them? Would you want to receive an email when annual, quarterly, or 8Ks are filed by companies you're interested in?

Good job man. I like the site so far. I might start a blog or writing an ebook one of these days.

Thanks. Let me know what you come up with. Investing has a ton of content and very little quality.

Thanks, I'm just going to tell myself the down votes are from people that don't want any more attention on these companies. I don't suppose you have access to CapIQ? I'm curious what the expensive tools do with this data.
