Local duo glitch

Hi everyone!

When my wife and I play BR duo locally, the player 2 remote basically stops working. As in, R2 is either always as if you’re pressing it or doesn’t work at all. Is this a common glitch and is there a fix?

Very new to Fortnite (and Reddit) so any help appreciated!
