Help: Longines Legend Diver 59 Milanese Bracelet and Clasp - Compatible with OG 42mm

Would anyone know if the updated clasp +- bracelet if needed is compatible with the original 42mm legend diver with milanese bracelet. The stamp clasp never quite did it for me.

I think the 59 is a wonderful update, and I would consider it but my 42mm has sentimental value and a story worth sharing over drinks.
