I see this as a sweet little story where the two characters try to please each other as much as possible even with the cage in the way. It keeps the desire and tension always on. I see the guard as a pretty masculine dude, no shame or sissification or pegging. Maybe there's a size gap or age gap, maybe he's a fantasy creature or anthro?

One night a week he is unlocked and returned to the barracks-does he take his ease with a tavern wench, trying to get the princess off his mind, or does he keep himself pure for her? Perhaps he finds a merchant who can make a 'replica' of his manhood from polished stone, that he can attach to the cage so they can feel more, ahem, united? Once she is married, does the guard go with her, the princess imagining her guard every time she lays with her husband?
