Makita tool sets

I'm looking to get my dad a load of Makita/ DeWalt/ Milwaukee tools, something where he can like stick to a certain brand an make use of a few batteries to power everything. ATM he's got a load of mismatch bulshit from Aldi Lidl, cheap Amazon shit. He is rockin 7 different chargers an it's pissin me off. I don't mind dropping over 1k but I don't wanna have my pants pulled down over the price aswell. What I would like to know is

which brand is best( I'm leaning towards Makita cos I have 1 battery an a double charger spare I can chuck him but I'm open to other brands

Where is best to buy them. Is it better to use like HotUKDeals an buy some bare units an batteries, better to just buy a set from Google search like a 9 to 12 peice set . Or I do have a mate who is in the trade an can go to one of them suppliers like Webber's that engineering firms use to get welding rods, grinder disks n shit from an get the units for trade price, aka tax free. I just think those bastards overcharge for stuff cos buisness to business etc

Basically I want cheap decent power tools for me dad. Help
