Does he like me?

Hi guys, im a 24 yo girl, graduated 2 years ago from uni in journalism.

I met a guy during my studies,same age and he said he liked me. The thing is that we never had a long deep convo and i alr tried to initiate it but hes not willing to interact he either takes long to respond or simply answers in short texts. Im a girl who loves to talk and i wanna know his way of thinking and his opinions on a lot of things but he's just not like that. He already asked me out and i simply ignored it bcz why would i date someone who doesn't communicate. But other than that hes a really nice guy and he likes me (from what he said) and i would always catch him staring at me irl. We stopped talking a few weeks ago bcz i deactivated my socials but i can't stop thinking about him. We talked about marriage once and i was honest about the fact that i can't get married to someone who doesnt have a stable income and he was really comprehensive, and even myself dont have a stable job yet. So now i have mixed feelings. Does he like me? If yes than why doesnt he talk to me a lot? Also should i give him a chance knowing it could just waste my time.

Im going abroad next year so i really dont know what should i do with this situation since i cant stop thiking about him, but i know for sure that im not in love with him, i can get over him.

Also would love advice from older people who already went through this. And thank you for reading me guys.
