Erik and friends: why do you think Disney cares about the viewer numbers of Wonder Man from a business perspective?

YAM_II was recently quoted saying something to the effect of he “heard the reason [the show] was cancelled was because of the lack of viewers”

My question is…why would viewers matter when that doesn’t necessarily mean higher revenue for the show? Would it not make more sense to measure success based on home may subscriptions they added because of Wonder Man? Or are there other factors I’m not considering?
