I built a free fantasy draft tool by myself — sharing in case anyone else finds it useful (EZDraftz)
Hey everyone — long-time fantasy player here. I'm a one-man team, not a developer by trade, I just wanted to see if I could actually build something like this myself. After a few months of work, I ended up with EZ Draftz, and figured I'd share it in case it's useful to anyone else. It's completely free to use.
The core idea: most draft tools give you one messy list of every position mashed together, or lock you into one platform's rankings and one draft room. EZ Draftz is built to be yours — your rankings, your leagues, your strategy — and it works whether you're drafting online or still doing it the old-school way at a table with friends.
What it actually does:
Fully customizable leagues — set up your exact league (roster size, bench spots, flex eligibility, scoring format) and save it. Use those same settings across both live and mock drafts.
Custom rankings, built your way — rank players position by position instead of one giant jumbled list. This keeps your focus on one position at a time instead of a messy full-board scroll. Running low on patience in the late rounds? Autofill the rest based on ADP so you're not manually ranking your QB47.
Save multiples of everything — you're not locked into one rankings sheet or one league setup. Got different leagues with different formats? Different rankings depending on your strategy that draft? Save as many versions of each as you want and pick whichever fits the draft you're walking into.
Drafty, your in-draft companion — pick a strategy going in, and Drafty tracks your picks against it in real time, offering advice pick by pick — roster needs, ADP timing, positional runs, handcuff opportunities, whether you're drifting off your plan, all of it.
Built for live in-person drafts too — a lot of us still draft at a table with a whiteboard and a cooler of beer. EZ Draftz works as a live companion for that — input your own team names, track picks as they happen, and see full team rosters once the draft wraps.
Mock drafts that actually feel real — this is the part I'm probably proudest of. The CPU opponents in mock drafts use real, defined draft strategies (Hero RB, Zero RB, Boomerang, Elite QB, and more) — they're not just picking straight down an ADP list. They'll even reach for a guy sometimes, same way real leaguemates do. You can mock draft using your own league settings, your own rankings, AND your own chosen strategy all at once — or just default to ADP if you'd rather keep it simple.
A real strategy library — a full breakdown of common draft strategies with round-by-round explanations of what you're actually looking for at each stage, not just a name and a one-liner.
Bonus stuff — NFL schedule and betting lines tucked neatly out of the way, there if you want them.
One honest limitation: there's no live sync with Yahoo/ESPN/Sleeper draft rooms yet, so online drafts still mean logging picks manually as they happen — same as the in-person mode. Something I'd like to add eventually, just not there yet.
This was a solo passion project, so I'm sure there are rough edges I haven't found. Would genuinely love any feedback if you give it a try.
