Why did Corlys pull Daemon out of the battle?

I know the battle was lost and Daemon was just seeing red in that moment until Corlys gets him.

In the scene before the battle didn’t Daemon call him a traitor and arrest him? Why would Corlys risk his life to go into the battle and save him if was just going to be thrown in the dungeons?

Perhaps I missed some subtle cues but this has been my main thought since the finale.
