Crisis averted, but dang.

Flattened my island and have been very excited to really dig-in to designing my island. I’ve never done a full flattening. I then spent SO long covering everything with mannequins to move my rocks. I have one rock left. Well, I was downloading paths to try, just wanted to do some cute layouts and stuff before moving on, and accidentally overwrote my “rock” pattern, deleting them all. Whoops! Close the game, restart. Nope, still all gone. It saves when you download designs. I’m in panic mode now. Delete my save data, restore island. I’ve done it before, so I know it works! Just hold - when it brings you to the counter with Timmy and Tommy. NOPE. No island data found! I LITERALLY CHECKED TO MAKE SURE MY BACKUP WAS THERE BEFORE DELETING.

Called Nintendo. It’s literally 3 minutes before they close. I soar through those menus and get a person. Well, I’m relieved to say, they still had my backup data, couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working, as it should’ve. But it’s restored! I’m so relieved. I have all ten of my dream villagers, and all that time spent flattening wasn’t wasted. Or all the stuff I’d catalogued as I played. Just one tiny, amusing problem. The mannequins are still gone. So that final rock in my rock garden will be wherever it wants to be, haha.

Thank goodness their support is actually great. I genuinely would’ve cried if I needed to start from scratch. LOL.
