I thought I’d share a few snaps from my first visit to TDS yesterday. I grew up visiting Walt Disney World and spent a summer working there, while conversely my husband had never been to a Disney park, and we both thought TDS was just incredible.

We got to the park around 8 to line up. I was expecting that this would allow us to “rope drop” at least one ride but by the time we got into the park, the big ones were already over an hour wait. Instead, I realize the benefit of arriving early is accessing the Priority Lane passes. We did three DPA passes (Toy Story Mania, Tower of Terror, and Frozen), snagged one 40th Anniversary Priority for 20,000 Leagues, and waited standby for a few others.

Overall, we were blown away by the affordability of the food, crowd management and politeness, and the design and immersion of the park as a whole. It was truly an incredible experience, and if you’re wondering if it’s worth it to go, as a couple with two wildly different perspectives on Disney Parks, we would both say IT IS.

Other random takeaways: Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey is 10000000% worth it, Peter Pan was awesome, Rapunzel’s Lanterns is worth 20-30 mins (and is best after dark), Tower of Terror is better in Florida, try to be at the front of the park for Splash Time (!!!), and Believe! Sea of Dreams might be the best nighttime show at any Disney Park (we didn’t get a spot ahead of time but it would have been worth doing).

EDIT: also, the heat was totally, totally manageable with breaks! We went back to our hotel around 3:30 for a rest but also utilized stores, quick service restos, and indoor rides with short lines (shout out Sindbad) to cool off.

Had an incredible first trip to TDS yesterday!!!
