What would you do if you were in my shoes ? Details in post

Hi friends, I just want some honest advice. You can be as real as possible. I’m 23 years old and I moved back in with my mom last year. It isn’t the worst thing in the world and I am grateful, but I do not have my own room and I’m craving my independence again. I have saved up 16,500 and am working on paying off 3,000 on my credit card I used to pay for some classes ( I could pay it off now obviously but just haven’t really wanted to touch my savings ). My mom isn’t financially stable and struggles, so I would like to avoid the same path (not talking bad about my mom, just don’t want to be like this). I guess I’m asking what career path would you jump into to become independent and make a stable living ?

I have been a server the last couple years and have finished a dental assistant certification. It can make me 20-25 hourly which isn’t enough. I do plan on continuing to save, but I really just need a decent paying career. I live a frugal lifestyle, so I don’t necessarily need tons of money. I have been debating college and also trade work. I just have no idea what to do and I feel lost. Being at home really does make me depressed, but I will force myself to stay here as long as I can so I don’t put myself in a financial hole. I would like to pursue environmental science, but I also want to be realistic with myself. I need to support myself, and really want to make it out. I don’t know if that career path will unfortunately lead me to that and honestly, I don’t know if I can stand staying here long enough to complete my bachelors. Give me your most honest opinion and advice please!
