Doctor thinks I have IBD but still scared of cancer

Hi, like the title says my doctor thinks I probably have IBD but I am still really anxious about bowel cancer. Im 18 with no family history and healthy diet so I know cancer is unlikely but I just don't feel my symptoms match what I've heard about IBD very well. I have had blood in stool for a few weeks now and also diarrhea, mucus and a lot of urgency but I haven't had any real stomach pain and I was under the impression that IBD is a very painful condition. I have done a stool test and am getting the results soon but I don't think I collected the sample correctly so I think I will have to re-do it.

Just wondering if anyone in this community has any reassurance to offer.
