Feeling trapped in your town

Well, I think that most people my age are significatively dumber or culturally recessed than me (and I´m not saying this to brag). But it really frustrates me that since I live in a small town full of people without enough self consciousness or maturity, I cannot really express how I feel or how I think without having the feeling of being judged or misunderstanded by my friends. Do you get what I mean?
