Question regarding toric Evo ICL lenses and quick retina question.

I (27m) had Evo ICL’s implanted when i was 23 years old.

Before surgery I was -8.00 in both eyes plus .50 astigmatism in both eyes. Few questions.

My ophthalmologist decided not to use toric lenses. Anyone know why? At every follow up appointment in the years since my OD has stated i still have a slight astigmatism.

Excuse my french but why did my original doctor do a half ass job?? I feel like I should have had the toric lenses implanted.

Anyways, my vision is still fine just something that i thought about.

My ophthalmologist also stated i should keep my eyes open for retinal detachments in the future due to my high prescription. Can someone explain does ICL increase this risk year over year? Ie will my risk of retina detachment increase as I age due to the ICL lenses or now that they are safely implanted the ICL lenses will have no future impact on risk of developing a retinal detachment?

Thanks all! Love this community,
