[TOMT] [late 90s early 2000s?] Japanese concept album with a "Death and the Maiden" theme
I remember it being associated with visual kei, and I'm pretty sure it was more of a symphonic darkwave type of sound. Moody, gothic. It also used imagery associated with German folklore, particularly the "Death and the Maiden" motif. At first I had thought it was literally just called "Märchen", but the only album with that name that comes close was a solo album by the Malice Mizer singer Klaha, and while my description might seem to match, I do not believe it was this one. I remember there being extensive album art and possibly a brief animation associated with it, of a beautiful woman in a pale yellow dress embraced or dancing with a demon-like Death figure with raven feathers (like Howl's bird form, kinda), and she dies, I think.
EDIT: I think I might have confused the title at first with Sound Horizon's album, Märchen, which is also has dark German fairy tale themes. But it's not this one. This one was more symphonic and moody and low-key, and was more strongly about the Death and the Maiden theme rather than fairy tales as a whole.
