regarding attachment behavior in my cat

hi everybody, about 3 months ago my uncle unfortunately passed overseas while on a trip leaving behind his 2 year old cat, twig. twig lived with him and my grandma but she was always more so his cat, not really starting to spend time with my grandma until after he left for his trip. i've taken twig in with me but i've noticed she is extremely attached to me and i wonder if this is because of my uncle. she feels the need to be with me EVERYWHERE and spend almost all of her time with me. in bed, in the living room, even in the damn bathroom attempting to get in the shower with me. everywhere i go she feels the need to be right by me. she also will frantically scratch at my door until i let her in. according to my grandma she was never like this with my uncle. if this a problem regarding newfound attachment issues, is there anything i can do to help her out? is this worth a trip to the vet?
