How hard is it to setup two monitors with different resolutions.

I have two 1080p monitors but I intend to replace one with a 1440p monitor. Will I still be able to use one of the old 1080p monitors in a dual monitor setup with this new 1440p monitor or do I need to just buy two 1440p monitors for a dual monitor setup?
